Comcast Business has unveiled a new suite of solutions and upgrades for U.S. small businesses.
Among the offerings are faster speeds up to 300/300 Mbps through the company’s expanded Dedicated Internet service, which is now available to more than 3.5 million businesses nationwide. The upgrade represents a 50 percent increase in available symmetrical speeds over HFC and extends Comcast’s reach to 40 percent more businesses since February, the company said.
The solution is designed to power cloud applications, video conferencing and e-commerce platforms, is backed by SLAs including 99.99 percent uptime, and offers expert support and proactive network monitoring delivered over an AI-enhanced network, officials said.
In addition, Wireless Connect is now available. The solution intelligently combines Comcast Business internet with dual cellular networks and access to millions of Wi-Fi hotspots to provide businesses with greater reliability via continuous connectivity. It’s designed to automatically detect and switch to the strongest available connection in real-time and includes a battery backup to maintain operations during power outages for up to eight hours, the company said.
Coming soon is SecurityEdge Preferred, which is intended to bring “big business cybersecurity” to small businesses. Currently in beta release, the solution is embedded directly into the Comcast network and offers a next-generation firewall designed to protect against malware, phishing, ransomware and botnets, with no additional equipment needed for Internet customers.
Comcast also announced full coverage Wi-Fi via Wi-Fi extenders designed to eliminate dead spots and create consistent connectivity.
