CPaaS Becomes a Top Vector for Video Projects

Most of those who want to embed video projects are using communications platform-as-a-service (CPaaS), with 49 percent saying they plan to start embedded video projects through a CPaaS in the coming year.

That’s according to Vidyo and WebRTC’s survey of 166 CIOs, CTOs, general managers, developers and engineering directors, which also found that around 45 percent of the respondents embed video into telehealth applications, which makes it a top use case not only in healthcare, but overall.

Across all industries, respondents embed video into collaboration and online meeting applications about 40 percent of the time, while 35 percent of the respondents use it in contact center workflows, followed by 30 percent who use video for distance learning solutions.

Those who haven’t added video said it’s mainly due to technical limitations or high costs. Also, more than half of the respondents report that the network they use isn’t good enough to ensure the video will be high quality.
