DAY 1

A

fter a thorough request for proposal

review process, MiCTA has named

Unite Private Networks (UPN) as

an approved vendor for fiber build-

out services, which are available to all MiCTA

members nationwide.

“As schools have progressed on the path of digital

learning and online assessment, bandwidth needs

have grown exponentially in recent years,” said

Martin Mueller, UPN director of Educational Sales.

“Our Ethernet Wide Area Network (EWAN) solution

provides 1.0, 10.0 or 40.0 Gbps connections to all

facilities via home-run fiber from every location back

to the district hub site.

“As a full service provider, with network moni-

toring from our network operations center, our

solutions allow school districts to manage all their

technology initiatives efficiently and more cost effec-

tively than with traditional scenarios. We are pleased

to make these solutions available at the best possible

price through MiCTA,” added Mueller.

The approved vendor status allows MiCTA

members to take advantage of the numerous fiber

build-out services UPN offers as specified in the

MiCTA master services agreement.

Additionally, with the MiCTA solution, school

districts can enjoy a streamlined e-rate process, making

the procurement process faster and easier. UPN

provides high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications

networks and related services to schools, governments,

carriers, data centers, hospitals and enterprise business

customers throughout the United States.

MiCTA’s Chief Operating Officer Tim Von

Hoff said, “We are pleased to have Unite

was selected by scoring high points in a highly

competitive RFP evaluation.”
