GCX Names Sonata Software a Tech & Business Partner

Sonata Software, a global IT services and technology solutions company, has signed an agreement with Bermuda-headquartered Global Cloud Xchange (GCX), a network services provider plan that provides global connectivity for media providers, telecommunications operators and enterprises.

Under the multi-year agreement, Sonata Software will support and maintain the end-to-end application landscape and help GCX migrate from technologies and existing platforms to enable a strategic transformation of its activities.

GCX provides high-bandwidth connectivity and managed network services globally, including managed ICT, cybersecurity and UCaaS solutions, to blue-chip customers including hyperscalers, telecom operators, new media providers and businesses around the world. Its 66,000 km of cables cover 46 countries, from North America to Asia, with a particularly strong position on the Europe-Asia and Intra-Asia routes.

In September, GCX announced regulators had approved the acquisition by 3i Infrastructure Plc. of 100 percent of the shares of GCX. During this period, the growth in global demand for data traffic continues to exceed 25 percent per year. At the same time, the demand for digital transformation is driving demand for managed network services globally, with growth estimates approaching 10 percent per year.
