Lenovo recently announced new ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile data storage and virtualization solutions as well as data management services designed to help enterprise and mid-size businesses modernize their IT and data infrastructure for powering applications and AI-ready capabilities.
“With disruptions in enterprise virtualization strategies and the mandate to make their data ready for the most demanding workloads, organizations are looking to modernize their legacy infrastructure with open solutions,” said Stuart McRae, executive director and general manager of data storage at Lenovo. “These new offerings provide the security, flexibility and performance to optimize enterprise applications and power enterprises to extract maximum value from data.”
In addition to efficiency and cyber resiliency needs, businesses also require scalability with an option to deploy on-premises as well as hybrid in which the data can stay in place for compliance while AI workloads run where appropriate, officials said. To address these needs, the Lenovo ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile offerings are optimized for AI, virtualization and storage bottlenecks, according to the company.
Among the new solutions, the ThinkSystem DS Series storage arrays are all-flash and protected storage area network (SAN) block storage systems designed to provide simple deployment and management for virtualized environments running mission-critical enterprise workloads.
In addition, the ThinkAgile FX Series is intended to provide maximum flexibility and investment protection with a multi-vendor hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) appliance. The solution offers an open architecture that supports conversion between select HCI solutions without replacing hardware, the company said.
In tandem with the data storage and virtualization releases, Lenovo is also offering a portfolio of hybrid cloud and data lifecycle services. This includes Lenovo Deployment Services for ThinkAgile and ThinkSystem to help organizations with an efficient infrastructure rollout, as well as a range of storage services that can be consumed individually or through the company’s TruScale model for performance enhancement, agility and innovation across the data storage lifecycle, officials said.
In addition, Lenovo’s Hybrid Cloud Advisory Services are designed to help customers align on-premises or hybrid environments with compliance, data protection and operational efficiency, while the company’s Migration Services help organizations optimize data and workloads by combining cloud flexibility with the dependability of existing infrastructure.
Further, Lenovo Premier Enhanced Storage Support offers a specialized, storage-focused experience for IT teams managing critical workloads. This support offers direct access to Lenovo experts who can assist with proactive monitoring, performance optimization and guided issue resolution, the company said.
