VertiGIS Appoints Industry Veteran to Lead Americas Utility Business

Spatial asset management solutions provider VertiGIS revealed that Steve Grise joined the company as GM for utilities – Americas. Grise will be responsible for continuing to grow the VertiGIS’ regional footprint, building on its partnership with Esri and delivering GIS software solutions.

In 10 years at Esri, he served as ArcFM product manager, and led the Esri data models program. He also started Esri’s Enterprise Advantage program and ArcGIS Solutions team. Grise also founded and ran the Vertex3 consulting business, with a focus on strategy, design and build projects with clients.

VertiGIS recently announced a new multinational partnership agreement with Esri, which provides a framework for joint business efforts – ultimately enabling both companies to best serve their global customers.

“We are at an important inflection point in the use of GIS software in Water and Energy Utilities,” said Grise. “With VertiGIS Networks, we have a significant change in the way we deliver and use GIS. I’m looking forward to helping customers to understand our product offerings and how they can put them to work. We’ll be working on a North American strategy first; decision-makers and system builders can expect to see us leading the charge to the next generation of network solutions.”

“Steve has a long track record of building GIS solutions that support business needs,” said Andy Berry, CEO, VertiGIS. “We are delighted to welcome him to the VertiGIS team. His strong mix of management consulting and technical expertise will assist with all aspects of GIS software success and his knowledge of Esri is second to none. With Steve’s help we will continue to deliver the next generation of modernized solutions for our customers.”

VertiGIS and Esri have been partners for years; VertiGIS currently holds Esri partner certifications in state and local government, network management, cloud services, and nine listings on ArcGIS Marketplace, supporting customers with ArcGIS-based solutions in over 50 countries.
