VoCoVo appointed Martin Smethurst as chief customer officer (CCO). Smethurst is expected to help the company further enhance its relationships with customers as it continues to support large European retailers and accelerate its expansion into new territories, including North America.
Specifically, he will lead a customer-centric approach that aligns with the company’s mission to enable global retail teams to harness the power of voice, creating connected store environments. Smethurst aims to build on VoCoVo’s exceptional growth record in recent years, ensuring that it becomes an indispensable partner for successful retailers worldwide.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining VoCoVo at such an exciting time for the business,” said Smethurst. “Bricks and mortar retail continues to be an incredibly competitive market, where implementing small changes can give retailers a crucial edge. The requirement to connect retail teams to each other, to customers, and to real-time information is essential in order for retailers to delight their customers. I have seen how VoCoVo’s solutions can change the entire fabric of a store’s operations, and I want to bring that change to every successful retailer on the planet.”
In a technology career that included senior leadership roles at companies such as Oracle, Cisco and Diebold Nixdorf, Smethurst has successfully implemented technology solutions to the retail and hospitality sectors, boosting operational efficiency, enhancing customer experiences and improving business performance.
“We are excited to have Martin join VoCoVo at this important stage of our business growth,” said VoCoVo co-CEO, Beth Worrall. “Martin’s depth of expertise in driving customer-focused strategies will be crucial as we strive to create even greater value for retailers whilst enhancing the overall customer experience that we offer. With Martin’s leadership, VoCoVo will continue to do what we do best – provide innovative technology solutions that help retailers and their teams thrive.”
