Midco, a Midwest provider of business internet, private networking and data center services, is now offering customized business products at speeds up to 400 Gbps. The development follows significant investment in the company’s network speed and capacity, the company said.
“We are seeing rapidly increased demand from business clients who need 400G fiber connectivity that delivers a rare combination of capacity, scalability and reliability,” said Justin Hebda, VP of business sales. “In the last month, our team closed contracts for 10 of these solutions with businesses who need to connect their core network to widely distributed locations.”
Midco controls and manages the capacity on its network end-to-end, Hebda said. Recent testing demonstrated a latency of less than 20 milliseconds from Spearfish, S.D., to Chicago via Midco’s MEF 3.0 certified network, officials said.
“This is a new benchmark in network capacity that shows our clients, including data center operators and hyperscalers with high-bandwidth needs, that Midco can absolutely deliver solutions that combine capacity and low latency,” said Jeff Sanders, director of wholesale. “Our long-haul network connects customers to major points of presence sites such as Minneapolis, Omaha, Neb., Chicago and Denver, allowing the transmission of massive volumes of voice, video and data at reliable 400G speeds.”
“Our network capacity, long-haul fiber infrastructure and customized business support are allowing data center operators and hyperscalers to expand their operations with confidence,” added Sanders.
Midco’s wholesale account executives and sales engineer professionals have experience developing customized 400G solutions and can advise businesses on the best ways to utilize the company’s wavelength services and dark fiber options, Sanders said.
