Zoom has launched Zoom for Defense, a secure, U.S.-based collaboration platform designed to meet Department of Defense (DoD) IL4 security, NIPRNet connectivity and operational requirements. The special extension of the company’s Zoom for Government offering is intended to give DoD agencies, employees and partners confidence that their communications comply with security requirements, while maintaining the familiar Zoom experience, the company said.
The Zoom for Defense platform supports a suite of the company’s solutions including AI Companion, Meetings, Team Chat, Webinars, Events and Rooms, and provides DoD organizations a flexible collaboration platform capable of supporting IL4-level mission requirements. Capabilities are expected to expand with Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center early next year, officials said.
“From entrepreneurs to global enterprises and government agencies, Zoom is designed to enable seamless and secure collaboration, while prioritizing users’ privacy, security and experience, all in one easy-to-use platform,” said Velchamy Sankarlingam, president of product and engineering at Zoom. “Zoom for Defense reflects our continued commitment to delivering trusted, mission-critical technology that supports the essential work of the Department of Defense.”
The platform will be sold exclusively through Carahsoft Technology Corp. and its partner ecosystem.
“The addition of Zoom for Defense to our portfolio underscores Carahsoft’s and our reseller partners’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies that enhance secure collaboration and drive success across the DoD,” said Craig P. Abod, president of Carahsoft. “Zoom for Defense equips agencies with compliant and reliable communication capabilities. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Zoom to bring their advanced platform to the public sector.”
