ActiveState has announced the launch of the Stackato Partner Program to tap VARs and independent software vendors (ISVs) to distribute the company’s platform as a service (PaaS) offering. This program connects Stackato’s private PaaS technology with leading infrastructure technologies and service providers. Inaugural partners are cloud infrastructure provider Cloudscaling, cloud-development services provider Cloud Technology Partners, and cloud IT services provider BestIT.
“This is just the start. As it grows, the Stackato Partner Program will offer more choices for the enterprise,” said CEO Bart Copeland, in a blog. “More and more enterprises are demanding Stackato-powered private clouds, and Stackato partners will help meet this market need. Stackato ecosystem partners will deliver integrated cloud solutions, offering their customers all the convenience, scalability and efficiency of the public cloud in a more secure, flexible and controlled private-cloud environment.”
Under terms of their respective Stackato partnerships, OpenStack infrastructure providers Cloudscaling and Cloud Technology Partners will endorse Stackato as a component in integrated technology solution delivery. IT services firm BestIT will resell Stackato PaaS technology.
“Establishing partnerships with the ISV and VAR partner community is essential to serving the private-cloud needs of today’s enterprises,” said Copeland. “Here at ActiveState, we recognize what we’ve accomplished with Stackato, both from a market and from a technology perspective: we’ve recently signed several new enterprise customers, and we’re proud of our burgeoning OEM business. As part of a recently-announced white-label arrangement, ActiveState’s Stackato PaaS technology will power the HP Cloud Application PaaS. Our customer traction and partnerships validate our technology and underscore Stackato’s growing market dominance in enterprise private cloud deployments.”
