ACW Names Big Impact Winner for Q1

The Alliance of Channel Women, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of female channel leaders in technology, announced Kimberly Staro, Channel Director at AVANT, was selected as the group’s Big Impact Winner for Q1 2023.

Honorees are chosen quarterly by ACW from nominees who are Living the ACW Advocacy Pledge: Women Supporting Women.

The ACW Advocacy Pledge Program was started in 2020 by the ACW DEI Committee to encourage women to support each other. The ACW Advocacy Pledge is “Behind Every Successful Woman is a Community of Successful Women Who Have Her Back.”

ACW encourages women to go on record supporting the ACW Advocacy Pledge by signing its pledge page. In addition, the association encourages visitors to nominate women who are “living the pledge.”

Staro was nominated by Karli Togami, Channel Manager at AVANT, and Alexis Keller, The Blonde Don at Root23 Agency.

“Kim has, from the very start of my career, provided me with guidance, advice and support to navigate any career challenges,” said Togami. “Upon becoming a new Inside Channel Manager, Kim took the time to get to know me, ask and understand my goals, career path and what I hoped to accomplish. Kim then took steps regularly to help me get there. Mentoring, training, shadowing – you name it. …I genuinely believe Kim is a large part of my upward growth at AVANT. Her confidence in me and constant guidance/support helped me achieve my career goals very quickly.”

Keller’s nomination said, “The defining factors between success and failure in every facet of life are authenticity and follow-through. If I had to pick two character traits to describe Kim Staro without hesitation, this is precisely where I’d start. …I learned so much from [Kim] (still do) and gained meaningful insight through the lens of another woman working in this space. … Because of Kim, I gained exposure early in my career that changed the trajectory — and boosted my confidence to keep fighting, always stay true to myself, and seize every opportunity that comes my way.”
