Bright House Unveils Hosted VoIP for SMBs

Cable MSO Bright House Networks Business Solutions is now offering small and medium-sized businesses a cloud-based VoIP service.

The turnkey hosted voice service, available via its alternate channels program, provides businesses with hardware, services and tech support for a monthly subscription. The offering uses Bright House Networks’ managed hybrid fiber-coaxial network, and the dedicated connections run separately from customers’ data services to minimize congestion. The cableco also provides onsite and remote support, as well as maintenance and automatic technology upgrades.

“Our hosted voice service is perfect for the small to mid-sized business looking for more professional voice solutions that can scale and meet demand,” said Josh Ebert, corporate vice president of SMB sales and operations at Bright House Networks Business Solutions. “Hosted Voice is easy to get, and easy to use. It keeps up with businesses as they grow. All services and features are delivered over our dedicated and secure data connection, which means Bright House Networks is able to control the quality and security of calls being made by its customers.”

Features include disaster recovery, unified messaging, mobile follow-me, call overflow queue, auto attendant and enhanced call logs.

The offering is the fruit of Bright House Networks’ 2012 acquisition of cloud communications provider Telovations, a specialist in hosted voice solutions, including PBX and managed SIP trunking.
