Cyber insurance provider Cowbell appointed Caroline Thompson (pictured, left) as Chief Underwriting Officer, a promotion from her position as SVP, and named Sonja Kozel (pictured, right) as SVP, Sales and Distribution.
“Caroline and Sonja have not only gone above and beyond in their respective roles but have also embraced our company’s values,” said Cowbell co-founder and CEO, Jack Kudale, in a blog post, noting that they “always acting with integrity and transparency, empowering individuals on their teams to succeed, and driving forward with the urgency that our agents and policyholders need.”
Thompson joined Cowbell in 2019 and is part of the founding leadership team, responsible for creating the company’s Prime 250 offering and for filing and accepting Prime 250 forms in all 50 states. She most recently served as Senior Underwriting Specialist at Zurich on the Middle Market Specialty and E&O team, and also held various positions at Beazley and Argo.
Kozel, meanwhile, joined Cowbell in 2020 and is regarded as a proven sales leader with a track record of meeting or exceeding quotas, as well as a cyber specialist and manager of some of Cowbell’s largest broker relationships. She previously worked with Markel Specialty as Senior Sales Manager.
The promotions reflect Cowbell’s goal of promoting talent from within.
