Cox Communications promoted Suzanne Fenwick to SVP of Content Acquisition. Fenwick succeeds Andy Albert, who will retire as Chief Content Strategist at year’s end, after over 25 years with the company.
Fenwick has two decades of experience in the cable telco industry, including overseeing programming, contract negotiations, business development, finance, strategy and mergers and acquisitions.
With this role, she will oversee video programming provider relationships and content acquisition, including negotiations of program carriage deals with the major content producers. Fenwick will also help set Cox’s long-term video content and distribution strategy, including streaming, On Demand and diverse programming.
Fenwick previously served as VP, Content Acquisition, and has led negotiations for all major cable deals, media content rights related to TV Everywhere, Video on Demand and advertising. Her previous position will be backfilled and report to Fenwick, who is currently seeking internal and external candidates. Fenwick is also a former executive with Travel Channel and the Cox Business commercial services division.
“Suzanne has been in the middle of many of our most strategic negotiations,” said Perley McBride, Cox EVP and CFO, “and has the experience and the thoughtful approach to lead our content team into the rapidly evolving future.”
