Cyberhaven, which is known for its Data Detection and Response (DDR) platform, added new in-line blocking and adaptive response capabilities to its software set. This integration is designed to better protect data against intellectual property theft and other insider threats.
The self-named platform applies real-time policy enforcement – based on full lineage and data context – to secure info and mitigate risk beyond the scope of services offered by traditional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) tools. Cyberhaven’s Full Context Blocking serves to prevent the exfiltration or misuse of sensitive information. The software also uses context such as provenance, app, user and content to enforce policies and reduce instances of false positives.
The new features are designed to better support real-time enforcement policies; help automatically identify and manage data; monitor adherence to data-management practices; and track info, even in cases where it has been copied, shared or modified. The platform also extends blocking functionality by preventing “risky” sharing to personal cloud storage, encrypted messaging apps and local USB media; mapping data throughout its lifecycle; and minimizing data sprawl without affecting creation, collaboration or privacy maintenance.
According to Cyberhaven CEO, Howard Ting, the refresh “extends Cyberhaven’s mission to modernize the data protection category and replace obsolete DLP products. … Our DDR platform sets the new standard for data protection that is comprehensive, accurate, easy to implement and mitigates risk in the common workflows that define modern digital businesses.”
