DE-CIX Expands Presence at 60 Hudson Street

DE-CIX has expanded its presence at 60 Hudson Street, a leading carrier hotel.

More than 300 cloud and telecommunication providers are present in the 700,000 sq ft, 24-story building, including Google, Amazon, and AT&T — making it a premier interconnection hub and a major gateway connecting U.S. networks to Europe.

DE-CIX’s new partnership with Quantum To Digital (QTD) also integrates the quantum-enabled QTD1 data center into its infrastructure. With this partnership, DE-CIX now serves four independent facility operators within the building, including DRT, Databank, NYI and QTD.

By deepening its presence at 60 Hudson Street, DE-CIX simplifies how networks within the building access its interconnection platform. With access available across four independent facility operators, networks can connect without the need for complex builds, expensive riser cross-connects or additional transport infrastructure, reducing both the cost and operational complexity of establishing direct interconnection within one of the most densely connected sites in the region.

DE-CIX’s expansion also strengthens the role of 60 Hudson Street within the wider New York interconnection landscape. By enabling more networks within the building to connect directly to the DE-CIX platform, traffic can be exchanged locally, improving routing efficiency and reducing reliance on indirect traffic pathways.

The QTD1 facility introduces new capabilities to the New York hub on Hudson Street. Formerly Equinix NY8, it was acquired by QTD Systems in 2022 to provide high-connectivity, colocation, managed services and hybrid IT, primarily serving finance and media sectors. The site is designed as a quantum-enabled data center, bringing together emerging quantum computing and networking technologies such as quantum key distribution (QKD) and the Qunnect GothamQ quantum network testbed within a commercial colocation environment.

This announcement continues DE-CIX’s ongoing expansion across the North American market, strengthening access to its global interconnection ecosystem while supporting the evolving connectivity requirements of networks operating in the region. DE-CIX has also recently expanded its presence to Equinix NY9, further extending access to its interconnection platform.
