Digital Guardian Completes Soc 2 Type 2 Examination

Digital Guardian, by HelpSystems, a SaaS provider of data loss prevention (DLP) solutions for large and midsize organizations, announced the successful completion of its System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 examination for the Digital Guardian Cloud Platform and its Managed Security Program (MSP) Services.

The SOC 2 Type 2 attestation report, prepared by Schellman & Company LLC, provides independent validation that Digital Guardian’s internal security and operational controls comply with the Trust Services Criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

SOC 2 reports demonstrate a company’s ability to implement critical security policies and to prove compliance over an extended period. The audit conducted by Schellman found Digital Guardian meets the SOC 2 standards for Security and Availability Trust Services Principles with zero exceptions listed.

“SOC 2 Type 2 certification provides an independent assurance to our customers that our cloud-delivered platform is safe and secure,” said Frank Aneiros, senior vice president of Global Services, Digital Guardian by HelpSystems. “That fact that our SOC 2 Type 2 attestation report was clean with no findings and no exceptions the first time through the examination is a testament to our ongoing commitment to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of our customers’ sensitive data.”

This important milestone follows Digital Guardian’s acquisition by HelpSystems, which will combine the Digital Guardian platform with other powerful security solutions in the company’s portfolio such as Titus, Boldon James and Vera to extend HelpSystems’ data security capabilities and further enhance its ability to categorize, or classify, data and protect it across a wide set of applications and operating systems.

The cloud-delivered Digital Guardian Data Protection Platform puts an organization’s most sensitive information at the center of all data protection, activity monitoring, and threat prevention, detection, and response activities. The platform provides the industry’s deepest visibility across the widest array of platforms with comprehensive classification and flexible controls, enabling customers to scale protection as needs evolve.

Powered by AWS, Digital Guardian requires no on-premises infrastructure, additional headcount, or customization, delivering simplified deployments and lower overhead.

Complementing its DLP platform, Digital Guardian’s award-winning MSP enables customers to deploy data protection faster and reduce risk, providing ongoing optimization and monitoring to help businesses stay ahead of evolving threats to sensitive data.

The company’s latest MSP offering, the Managed DLP Service for Midsize Companies solution, is the first DLP-as-a-service specifically designed to meet the unique security demands of the midmarket. Importantly, it empowers Digital Guardian’s channel partners to deliver and manage an enterprise-grade DLP program that improves the security posture of midmarket organizations, providing unmatched time to value.
