FirstLight Makes Sizable Investments in Vermont

FirstLight has reached a milestone in Vermont, having added approximately 250 miles of new fiber throughout the state in just over a year.

FirstLight has been steadily expanding its fiber footprint throughout Vermont, in order to meet the continued demand for fiber-based, broadband services. The number of route miles of fiber in Vermont now total more than 1,500 miles, with additional expansion planned for later this year, and the number of Vermont buildings on or within close proximity to FirstLight’s network has increased to 3,500.

FirstLight has focused on meeting the communication needs of key industry sectors in Vermont, and now serves some of the state’s largest hospitals, schools, municipalities, and financial services organizations. FirstLight has won a number of high-profile accounts in recent months, including Cabot Creamery, the Town of Bennington, and Tri-State Area Federal Credit Union.

The company also recently launched several new services now marketed to customers in Vermont, including a managed firewall service, a managed router service, and an encrypted wavelength solution.
