FTC Selects Inca Networks to Power ‘All Inca’ Video Headend

Farmers Telephone Cooperative (FTC) has selected Inca Networks as their preferred vendor, and will use Inca’s video equipment exclusively to power their headend.

Inca Networks is a leader in carrier-grade video solutions with their Intelligent Video Delivery system powered by VidiOS, an award-winning management and monitoring tool. This announcement is the result of a multi-year relationship and a series of head-to-head quality tests conducted against competitor products.

FTC provides voice, video, internet, wireless and home security services to businesses and residents of five counties in South Carolina and hosts the video master headend for two other telephone companies.

“We chose Inca because of their reliability and excellent video quality,” says Pete Anderson, central office supervisor at FTC. “Their track record in developing simple-to-use technology and providing excellent technical support strengthened our confidence in Inca Networks.”

Before fully switching their headend gear over to Inca products, FTC ran a set of head-to-head tests comparing the Inca gear to a leading competitor’s equipment. Recently, Inca’s 4400 Modular Series with 8VSB Reception replaced FTC’s previous vendor at 4 different sites and has significantly improved video and audio quality for local off-air channels.

“We have dedicated the talent, technology and time to truly understand the unique needs of independent video operators,” stated Robert Bell, CEO of Inca Networks. “Our products provide a deep and powerful set of tools to help operators run their video business efficiently on a day-to-day basis. Deep visibility and strong management tools are the cornerstones of our Intelligent Video Delivery solution.”

Configuration and deployment of Inca products are fast and intuitive thanks to VidiOS, a powerful headend video monitoring solution. VidiOS is included in every Inca product and features inbound and outbound video thumbnails, stream capture and download, and extensive statistical analysis.

“Set-up was quick,” explained Anderson. “The Inca platform is so intuitive and easy to maintain and configure, whether you’re adding a new channel or troubleshooting one. It’s a great product and simple to use.”

According to Bell, Inca is honored that FTC has selected a 100 percent, all-Inca headend.

“We have found a great partner in FTC. We appreciate FTC recognizing the quality of our products and the value we bring to video operators,” he added.
