Spectrum Global Solutions announced that High Wire Networks has tapped Don Schmidt, a 35-year global sales and operations executive, to lead the Technology Solutions business unit as executive vice president, overseeing the combined SGSI and High Wire sales team.
In his new role, Schmidt will focus on growing current strategic partnerships and developing new partnerships with technology organizations that need reliable, innovative, and cost-effective human capital management services.
Schmidt’s first key objective will be to align the sales team toward a single go-to-market strategy to deliver the full suite of High Wire services, including staffing solutions (from on-demand onsite technicians to full-time staff augmentation), managed cybersecurity marketplace, and national commercial and industrial electrical services. Alignment is expected to optimize the company’s growth while also providing additional capabilities for High Wire partners to offer their clients.
Schmidt comes to High Wire after a combined 35 years at Black Box Corporation, a High Wire client. Most recently, Schmidt was senior director of strategic and global client solutions, where he managed multiple international P&Ls and led a team of more than 250 global employees. While there, his team saw 60 percent revenue growth with a 13 percent improvement in gross margin.
