Intelisys Names Cook to Lead Strategic Initiatives

Master agency Intelisys Communications has announced that J.R. Cook has joined the company to lead its strategic business development initiatives.

One of his immediate priorities in the new role is working closely with Dana Topping, Intelisys co-owner, to deliver great connectivity solutions to the Watchtower Organization, based in Wallkill, N.Y., which operates printing facilities both in the U.S. and around the world.

The program will allow Intelisys to expand its international footprint and give sales partners access to new products and services worldwide, the company said.

“I am deeply grateful that J.R. agreed to join Intelisys, and that we have the honor of working with a seasoned professional in such a meaningful way,” said Topping. “Looking to the future, J.R.’s role will be critical in defining new ways Intelisys can attract and support the industry’s top performing Partners, and how the company itself will morph and change through this exciting period of growth.”

Cook joins Intelisys after serving as channel chief for EarthLink Business and New Edge Networks since 2010. Prior to that, Cook served as a vice president for TelePacific Communications.

“I have spent much of my career admiring the Intelisys team and the value they bring to their sales and supplier partners,” he said. “I could not be more excited about bringing my years of experience and relationships to this side of the fence to further enhance the Intelisys value proposition.”

Jay Bradley, Intelisys president, added, “This is a critical role at a critical time for Intelisys, and J.R. is absolutely the right person for the assignment. J.R. brings the knowledge and experience to really understand the strategic challenges of growth and transformation in the indirect channel, and he will inspire new ideas to help our partners grow. We are thrilled to have him.”
