Iron Mountain has added secure, on and offsite shredding services to its GSA Schedule 36 vehicle (GS-03F-049GA), supporting Federal Agencies’ needs for secure, reliable, convenient and environmentally-friendly information disposal.
Now available under Special Item Number 51-507 for Destruction Services, Iron Mountain’s services comply with various security standards, including AAA Certification from the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) and Privacy+ certification from PRISM International.
Specific shredding service offerings added to Schedule 36 include both scheduled and purge services offered on- and offsite. In performing secure offsite shredding services, Iron Mountain personnel securely transports materials from the customer site to an Iron Mountain shred facility where all material is destroyed, complete with full chain of custody reporting. In performing secure onsite shredding services, Iron Mountain personnel collect and dispose of all material at the customer site in Iron Mountain’s secure Mobile Shredding Unit.
These service offerings are available in different container sizes such as box, mini-console, console, 65-gallon bin and 95-gallon bin. Additionally, Iron Mountain recycles all shredded material, and provides its customers a “Green Report” to demonstrate an organization’s contribution to its sustainability efforts.
“We are very excited to have our Secure Shredding Services added to the GSA Schedule 36,” said Michael J. Lewis, vice president and general manager, Federal Government, Iron Mountain. “These new additions to GSA Schedule 36 provide agencies with industry-leading options for safely, securely, privately and cost-effectively destroying paper-based documents. Agencies also have the flexibility to choose either onsite or offsite, and one-time or recurring services, ensuring they have access to the service or combination of services that best fits their workflow.”
Iron Mountain’s Secure Shredding Services join a host of other Iron Mountain services already provided through GSA Schedule 36, including the recent addition of data center services. Iron Mountain Government Solutions is helping agencies not only comply with, but also surpass government-wide goals to modernize infrastructure, optimize efficiency metrics, and significantly cut public sector costs. As Iron Mountain continues to expand in the public sector, it will improve the way government agencies manage records throughout the entire information lifecycle, from creation to destruction.
