JumpCloud: IT-Security Team Collab Urgent for Cybersecurity

JumpCloud published new research: Stronger Together: Why IT-Security Collaboration Drives Greater Security and Efficiency. This report is based on a survey of 100 security leaders, emphasizing an “urgent” need for IT and security teams to collaborate and address rising cybersecurity tool complexity and fragmentation.

Of note, 91 percent consider collaboration with IT to be critical to security strategy, while 45 percent say fragmented tools create blind spots and inefficiencies, meaning that complex systems are more than hard to manage. They become a liability.

“In today’s complex threat landscape, collaboration between IT and security is essential,” said Robert Phan, CISO, JumpCloud. “This report highlights the real-world challenges that organizations face when they’re siloed. By combining forces, IT and security create resilience and efficiency that no standalone team can achieve.”

Key findings include:

  • All respondents who saw productivity as a benefit of unifying tools believe it could improve productivity by at least 25 percent.
  • Less than 10 percent see current IT and security tools meeting needs.
  • Two out of three security leaders think that unified IT-security tools boost visibility and control.
