LastPass, which provides password and identity management, rolled out SaaS Monitoring. This new capability allows organizations of all sizes to improve SaaS ecosystem visibility, in turn reducing shadow IT and shadow AI risk. SaaS Monitoring is the first innovation in LastPass’ Secure Access Experiences initiative, for making access management more accessible.
“SaaS Monitoring gives businesses something they’ve been missing – visibility and control,” said Don MacLennan, CPO, LastPass. “In their efforts to enhance productivity, employees often turn to SaaS and AI tools outside of company policies. This Shadow IT usage can result in cost overruns and business-critical data exposures. SaaS Monitoring from LastPass is an affordable, easy-to-deploy capability that gives businesses the visibility they need to identify unnecessary risks and curb spending.”
Business owners and IT admins can see what applications are in use, across the organization, instantly identifying unapproved or unvetted business tools; monitoring application adoption, use and user activity; enforcing password and access management policies; reducing risk and maintaining compliance.
Key capabilities include:
- Discovering unapproved SaaS apps and AI tools.
- Spotting duplicate, unused or over-provisioned applications.
- Enforcing credential hygiene and access management policies by tracking application logins.
- Maintaining compliance.
- Identifying critical apps for continuity planning.
LastPass’ SaaS Monitoring does not require additional agents to deploy, and can be enabled in just a click of a button without additional installation, configuration or added work. The applications dashboard displays application categories, how they are accessed and adoption trends. The user dashboard, meanwhile, displays individual users’ email address and usage activity.
LastPass SaaS Monitoring is now generally available through a new package, Business Max.
