Level 3 Communications has launched its Cloud Connect portfolio, which is available through the company’s channel partners. The portfolio, true to its name, provides the underlying network connectivity and private network access to cloud and data center services.
“Highly reliable, secure and performance-optimized network connectivity is becoming an increasingly important component of an enterprise IT strategy as mission-critical business processes and applications become more network dependent, especially with the widespread deployment of IT cloud environments,” said Melanie Posey, research vice president at IDC. “Level 3 Cloud Connect Solutions provide the flexibility and performance capabilities for enterprises to dynamically interconnect with their cloud ecosystem, enabling them to run their applications efficiently and securely.”
The offerings include fiber-based and low-latency route options to enable core IT functions such as email, Web sites and customer relationship management services; a network security portfolio that leverages Level 3’s private network access, managed security, Distributed Denial of Service mitigation and consulting services; and the ability to allocate bandwidth dynamically and pay only for what businesses consume.
“From performance to cost efficiency, enterprises have high expectations for cloud-based services and the network is integral to meeting those expectations,” said Paul Savill, Level 3’s senior vice president of Global Core Product Management. “Level 3 Cloud Connect Solutions deliver global network reach with direct connections to the evolving landscape of leading cloud service providers, placing Level 3 in a strong position to help enterprise IT organizations successfully realize their cloud strategies.”
