Lightower Fiber Networks has inked a deal with PCCW Global to extend its switched and dedicated regional Ethernet reach beyond the United States and into 86 countries covered by PCCW Global’s 100+ Ethernet points of presence (PoPs) deployed on its international MPLS backbone.
Hong Kong’s main telecom carrier and Lightower, an all-fiber provider of custom, high-capacity network services for carriers and businesses, have signed an agreement to establish international Ethernet interconnectivity (E-NNIs) between their networks, enabling both companies to leverage each other’s network footprint and offer end users additional networking solutions.
Connecting major carrier hotels within New York and Chicago, the new E-NNIs also enhance PCCW Global’s Ethernet capabilities in the United States and will bridge the East Coast and Midwest regions, thus accelerating PCCW Global’s plans to further expand its Ethernet service offerings into the United States. PCCW Global is continuously expanding its services into new markets and developing its business into far-flung locations worldwide, with carrier MPLS and Ethernet interconnects reaching more than 3,000 destinations in 130 countries.

This collaboration also connects enterprises from developed metro markets in the United States to developed and emerging markets across the globe.
