Africa’s Liquid Telecom has selected the SaaS version of Telarix‘s iXTools platform, as well as the business-to-business exchange service iXLink, to help automate the management of its fast-growing international voice traffic operation.
Liquid Telecom supplies wholesale fiber, satellite, and connectivity services in Africa, and has built Africa’s largest fiber network spanning more than 13,000 kilometers and running from the north of Uganda to Cape Town on a single thread. Its customers include Africa’s largest mobile network operators, ISPs, financial institutions and businesses of all sizes in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.
“We are thrilled to have been selected by Liquid Telecom,” said Telarix CEO Glen Kazerman. “We know our systems will provide the advance performance needed to enable Liquid to provide the quality needed to its customers, positioning the company for growth in the coming years.”
Telarix’s iXTools SaaS is a fully hosted and managed interconnect business optimization and settlement service for interconnect networks, while Telarix’s iXLink business exchange enables more than 3,300 carriers electronically exchanging more than 40,000 documents monthly. It provides real-time insight to stop revenue leakage and allow for profit management. Together, they will provide Liquid Telecom a real-time view of voice traffic on its network, enabling Liquid to ensure that its customers continue to receive quality voice service with accurate billing across different countries.
“Liquid has taken its place as a major pan-African communications connectivity provider,” said Ramzi Shalak, head of international networks at Liquid Telecom. “Telarix will help ensure that we meet our own QoS standards as the voice traffic on our network continues to grow. It enables us to focus on both our profitability and the quality of service we are delivering to our customers across Africa.”
