MegaPath Launches UC, Plus Skype for Business Integration

MegaPath has launched MegaPath One, a unified communications (UC) service that delivers collaboration for businesses of all sizes, available via channel partners.

MegaPath One combines IP business telephony with video calling, instant messaging, presence and online conferencing in a single application that works on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets. The UC service also supports an always-on virtual collaboration space called My Room and the ability for users to take turns sharing their screen within the same group session.

Additionally, MegaPath released Skype for Business Integration, giving businesses that have adopted Skype for Business the ability to expand its capabilities by integrating it with MegaPath’s mobility-enhanced business telephony system, Hosted Voice.

“With the rise of hyper-connected talent joining the workforce, businesses need collaboration tools that allow colleagues, partners and customers to quickly connect via multiple platforms across locations,” said Kurt Hoffman, president and CEO, MegaPath. “Today’s release of MegaPath One addresses the industry demand for an all-in-one UC and telephony solution that goes beyond instant messaging and presence to include Outlook integration, simplified audio and video conferencing capabilities and more. Moreover, today’s release of Skype for Business Integration with Hosted Voice gives businesses that have standardized on Skype for Business for their unified communications, the ability to better leverage that investment.”

With the release of Skype for Business Integration, users can click-to-call internal or external contacts within Skype for Business or other Office 365 applications and documents. The Skype desktop client and optional MegaPath desk phone can be used interchangeably.

Similar to MegaPath One, users of the Skype for Business Integration with Hosted VoIP can use their desktop Skype application and MegaPath desk phone interchangeably for outbound and inbound calls using their business VoIP number.
