NanoTech Entertainment has signed technology specialist Ingram Micro as a U.S. distributor for the Nuvola NP-1 4K UltraHD streaming video player. The distributor will make the player available via its VARs and other channel partners.
4K UltraHD is the next iteration of TV resolution–offering four times the resolution of standard 1080p HD. Consumers need a compatible TV to benefit; or, a device that can translate 4K content to existing TVs, which is what the Nuvola NP-1 does.
“We’re excited about the opportunities that our alliance with Ingram Micro will provide,” said Aaron Taylor, NanoTech’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Together we will expand the presence of the Nuvola NP-1 as a cost-effective solution for enjoying the detail and clarity of 4K Ultra HD resolution, or any resolution, on any TV.”
NPD DisplaySearch’s most recent research indicates that 1.9 million Ultra HD/4K TV products will ship his year and jump to 12.7 million units in 2014.
“The digital signage market is constantly innovating to meet and exceed the demands of today’s businesses and consumers,” said Kevin Prewett, senior director of the ProAV/Digital Signage Business Unit at Ingram Micro U.S. “We’re pleased to bring NanoTech and its innovative products into our 2014 solutions portfolio.”
