Object First Promotes New COO

Object First, the creator of the Ootbi (out-of-the-box-immutability) ransomware-proof backup storage appliance for Veeam, promoted Kelly Wells to COO. Wells – who has a track record of helping organizations scale for rapid growth – will focus on driving operational excellence across Object First’s business operations, sales and marketing operations, HR, IT and customer success organizations.

“Kelly has been essential to the company’s success since joining our team last year,” said David Bennett, CEO, Object First. “Her vision and expertise will continue to drive operational improvements and strengthen partnerships, and I am delighted to see her step into this new role to create the best business foundation for our growth in the years to come.”

With over 18 years in IT, Kelly spent the past year leading Object First’s global operations organization. Since joining the company in 2023, she has overseen all aspects of hardware manufacturing and distribution, from product procurement and configuration to ensuring reliable fulfillment through our distribution channels.

Before joining Object First, Wells served as VP of customer success and enablement with Axcient. She has also held executive positions with Webroot and served as a management consultant for Accenture.

“I am honored to step into this new role as Chief Operating Officer and lead our team in delivering the best business results,” said Wells. “Driving operational excellence across all channels, from partners and customers to internal teams, is core to my mission. I look forward to continuing to improve and scale our success by delivering streamlined processes that ensure our solutions reach those who need them most.”
