OpenDNS has integrated its Umbrella for MSPs service with Autotask, an IT business management platform. The combined solution centralizes OpenDNS security alert trouble tickets and metrics within the Autotask professional services automation (PSA) system.
“We have been using OpenDNS to protect customers and decrease malware remediation time since 2012,” said Paul Tomlinson, owner and managing director for Mirus IT. “It is so effective at preventing infections and freeing up engineering time that we provide the solution free of charge to our clients and make it a requirement. Everything we do is driven through Autotask. This new OpenDNS integration enables us to be alerted the moment an issue arises and a ticket is created in Autotask, so we can proactively resolve problems before they can impact our customers’ business.”
Autotask’s hosted IT business management platform streamlines and optimizes business processes for channel partners. The OpenDNS-Autotask API integration also enables partners to automate the management and delivery of proactive Umbrella security services within the Autotask platform.
“According to our recent survey of 1,300 IT service providers around the world, 54 percent reported that security is their clients’ top concern,” said Len DiCostanzo, senior vice president of community and business development at Autotask. “The integration of OpenDNS with Autotask enables MSPs to provide an important additional layer of protection for any device, anywhere, while unifying security alerts and IT management within a single pane of glass.”
