Rackspace has selected CloudPassage Halo as the underlying security and compliance platform enabling the Rackspace Compliance Assistance offering, a managed service targeting companies of all industries and sizes that have specific compliance requirements and that prefer to outsource the management of compliance initiatives.
Halo was chosen specifically for its broad range of controls that are delivered as an on-demand service in any kind of infrastructure: data centers, private cloud or public cloud, regardless of provider, the company said.
“CloudPassage is one of the leading providers in workload-focused security,” said Jarret Raim, director, managed security at Rackspace. “Halo has enabled Rackspace to provide a new service to our customers, helping us to define, manage and validate customers’ Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) requirements. The CloudPassage technology has helped the Rackspace team become more efficient and effective by automating previously manual compliance processes. This benefits our customers by speeding up cost-effective compliance initiatives.”
Rackspace Compliance Assistance is a managed service solution that helps organizations provide audit assurance and confidence to customers through a tailored offering that combines specialized hosting expertise with a fully managed 24x7x365 security operations center. The service focuses on helping clients address PCI-DSS and HIPAA compliance goals with appropriate monitoring, management and reporting.
“Rackspace is fundamentally transforming its business and CloudPassage is a key part of the story,” said Robert Thomas, CloudPassage CEO. “Enterprises of all sizes are in the middle of a huge shift to agile IT delivery models and traditional, perimeter-based appliances don’t work well in this high speed world of rapid change, shared resources and deep automation. As an important piece of the Rackspace managed services offerings, CloudPassage helps to play a role in giving companies an enormous business advantage over their competition.”
