Syncro MSP Survey Highlights Economic Concern

Syncro, a B2B SaaS company serving the MSP and IT markets, announced the results of its recent, independently conducted benchmark survey: 2025 MSP Outlook: How MSPs Can Address Their Biggest Priorities. This report captured insight from over 200 MSPs with three to 100 employees.

Findings revealed an optimistic business growth outlook for business growth, with 90 percent of respondents expecting to expand over the next 12-18 months despite broader concerns about a potential economic slowdown.

Other findings included:

  • 71 percent of MSPs experienced growth in the last 12-18 months, with 43 percent noting growth of 6-15 percent, and 27 percent seeing growth of 16-40 percent.
  • 30 percent of MSPs were somewhat concerned about a recession, with 90 percent not anticipating a reduction of foundational remote monitoring and management (RMM) or professional services automation (PSA) systems.
  • In the next 12-18 months, top MSP objectives included: growth (73 percent) and profitability (64 percent).

“It’s encouraging to see such optimism among small to mid-sized MSPs,” said Michael George, Syncro’s CEO. “Despite economic uncertainties, these businesses are not just expecting growth—they’re actively planning for it. This confidence reflects the vital role MSPs play in today’s digital-first world, where businesses rely heavily on their expertise to stay competitive.”

MSPs also cited top concerns such as cybersecurity threats, sales competition and profitability. Security was also listed as a key driver for technology adoption, with many MSPs prioritizing solutions that protect clients and their own operations from cyberattacks.

“MSPs are facing an existential threat from cyber-attacks, which have become one of the top concerns in the industry,” said George. “The survey results emphasize how security needs to be at the forefront of every MSP’s strategy. As their businesses grow, they want solutions that not only improve efficiency and profitability but also provide the security to protect their customers.”

The survey was conducted by Topline Strategy Group in August 2024, with 219 total MSP respondents, each with employee counts of 3-25. Results reflect a representative sample of small-to-midsized MSPs in the U.S. market.
