Tech Data Names Americas Chief

Tech Data Corp. has named Joseph Quaglia as president of the Americas.

Quaglia, who has been with the company for seven years, will now lead sales, marketing, logistics and purchasing operations throughout the United States, Canada and Latin America. He will also be responsible for strategic initiatives in these areas.

He replaces Murray Wright, who resigned as Americas chief earlier this year to take the post of CEO of Zones Inc., a Seattle-based tech services compan.

Quaglia was most recently senior vice president of U.S. marketing for Tech Data, serving since November 2007.In February 2012, he took on the additional role of president of TDMobility, an end-to-end mobility practice that covers everything from device selection and activation to security and mobile device management in the data center. TechData recently completed the acquisition of Brightstar Corp.’s 50 percent ownership interest in TDMobility,

Quaglia joined Tech Data in 2006 as vice president for the east and government sales.

He has a bachelor’s of science in computer science from Indiana State University and a master’s of business administration from Butler University.
