Telarix has extended its iXLink international communications management platform to include rate management for SMS. The offering can manage all aspects of a service provider’s international SMS wholesale business, including agreement management, dial-code management, rate upload and analysis, optimized routing, billing and settlement.
“SMS is ever growing, and with the complexities and business automation requirements starting to mirror voice, it’s becoming increasingly important for a carrier to have a peace of mind that the SMS business is being optimized,” said Susan Wegmueller, senior director of product marketing at iXLink. “The optimization realized through our solution ensures higher margins, protects the SMS revenue stream and provides automation across the supply chain.”
The SMS wholesale business is more complicated than other revenue streams as the contractual obligation is often less strict or lacking in standards compared to voice, opening carriers up to the risk of arbitrage. Telarix said that its automated solution reflects rate changes quickly ensuring arbitrage is avoided. It also incorporates event-based rating for SMS call records, invoice generation for the accounts receivable process, and audit and reconciliation for the accounts payable process.
“Telarix has been a pioneer in offering carriers innovative business optimization solutions,” said Vic Bozzo, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. “Extending our offerings to include an SMS interconnect solution is a natural extension and allows carriers to extend their iXTools and iXLink platform beyond voice and data, and into messaging services, all designed to enable partners to grow their converged infrastructure business.”
