Telarus has promoted industry-veteran Ray Hicken to its newly created role as VP of strategic partnerships – contact center.
In this role, Hicken will focus on helping Telarus’ enterprise-focused channel partners close larger deals, expand their contact center practices, and introduce them to his vast network of top contact center providers.
Hicken will continue to be integrally involved in the relationships and strategies for the Telarus portfolio of contact center related suppliers.
He has previously held roles at InContact including at the head of their channel program and has led both CarrierSales and Telarus’ development into becoming the number one producing contact center master agency in the nation.
During his very successful career, Hicken first learned the contact center business as a sales representative, before he moved into the channel.
Starting as a channel manager, Hicken was eventually named VP of Channels for InContact. He has since helped build the most complete and robust portfolio of contact center and related suppliers for Telarus partners to sell. During his time at both companies, Hicken has developed a reputation for expertise, building successful teams, and always jumping in to help partners win deals.
Hicken shared his thoughts on the new move.
“With over ten years of working with channel partners, I’ve come to realize that not every partner needs the same things,” he says. “While we’ve built incredible support teams and structure for all of our partners, it’s become apparent that there are two segments of this business. There is a growing number of deals in the small and mid-market segment where the decisions are made by departments and line of business managers, and we’ve built a great structure to help our partners win those deals. The enterprise segment of this industry requires focus, expertise, and deep relationships. I believe that I can best serve our top partners close their big deals by being focused on their business and bringing them all the resources they need to win!”
