Wild Packets Appoints EMC Vet as President

Channel-friendly Wi-Fi specialist WildPackets has appointed former EMC executive Larry Zulch as president, responsible for worldwide sales and marketing.

Zulch brings over 20 years of senior level executive experience.

“With the demand for gigabit WLAN analysis surging as 802.11ac is adopted in the enterprise, and with increasing demand for our products from security incident response teams, this is an opportune time for WildPackets to expand its executive team,” said Tim McCreery, WildPackets CEO. “Larry brings a wealth of experience in turning opportunity into business value and is a perfect match for WildPackets at this stage of our development. I look forward to partnering with him.”

Zulch joins WildPackets from San Francisco-based SQLstream, a big data streaming analytics software company, where he served as chief strategy and development officer. Prior to SQLstream, he held leadership positions at EMC, Dantz Development (acquired by EMC) and Photometics, a developer of photonics-based cancer therapies.

“WildPackets has a long history of providing actionable insight into wired and wireless operations,” said Zulch. “I’m excited to join such an impressive team and help drive the next phase of WildPackets’ growth.”

Zulch has also served on the boards of directors of several companies: FreeRange Communications (chairman — acquired by Handmark, which was acquired by Sprint), PLC Diagnostics (merged with iNDx Healthcare), Cloud Engines, NeoLogic and LESCO. He received his BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis.
