ZTE Wins Data Protection Award from British Standards Institution

ZTE Corporation, a provider of advanced telecommunications systems, mobile devices and network solutions for cellular operators, businesses, public institutions and home users, announced it was awarded the “Privacy Strategy Contribution Award” from the British Standards Institution (BSI) for its contributions to data protection and compliance.

The British Standards Institution, whose history goes back 100 years, has a royal charter and is one of the founding members of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), evaluates three criteria when awarding the 2020 Excellence Award: outstanding performance, data protection strategy and corporate social responsibility.

“ZTE stood out among many companies with ISO27701 certification and won the Privacy Strategy Contribution Award. This is great recognition from professional ZTE privacy certification organizations, “said Shen Nan, ZTE’s chief legal officer.” The company has implemented high standards and is committed to embedding privacy into its business operations and product design strengthen the basis of mutual trust between ZTE and its global partners and create a win-win situation for both parties. ”

ZTE previously was recognized for the world’s first 5G product ISO27701 data protection management system – a certification issued by BSI. This officially certifies the security and compliance in the processing of personal data in 5G products from ZTE.
