Master agency and technology distributor Intelisys Communications has reached a big milestone: it celebrates its 20–year anniversary this month.
The company marked the occasion with a a celebration dinner at the Meritage Resort in Napa, Calif. In attendance were 150 colleagues and their families, sales partners and supplier partners from around the country.
“The journey to founding and operating a successful company like Intelisys to its twentieth anniversary is a deeply moving and personal one,” said Intelisys co-founder Rick Dellar. “As I reflect back on all the amazing moments of personal challenge, joy and growth, there is no greater joy than knowing that Intelisys and many of our other risk taking competitors helped to truly shape a giant industry and change it for the better.”
Intelisys was founded in December 1994 by high school friends Dellar and Rick Sheldon. During the years following, Dellar and Sheldon grew the business significantly, and in 2006 the company merged with Resource Communications. Through that acquisition, Dana Topping became a co-owner.
“Through the years, our industry has evolved and developed significantly with substantial growth and competition,” said Topping. “The foundation of our growth has always been attributed to our Sales Partners’ success. Nothing has changed today. We continue to do everything possible to provide them with forward thinking leadership, useful technology and dedicated support staff to assist them in reaching their goals. And it’s a fascinating process to see…many begin as business partners and soon become great friends.”
Meanwhile, Intelisys has invested in the partner community, supporting them with financing, education, sales-engineering, technology tools, and enablement programs.
“It’s never been about telecom or IT…it’s always been about the people,” said Sheldon. “Our vision was crystal clear from the beginning. We wanted to help other people be successful. We wanted to push ourselves to the limits in order to help our sales partners achieve the impossible. Thanks to those high achieving Sales Partners, we’ve been blessed with the opportunity to do this for 20 years.”
