Allied Telecom Group has appointed Robyn Smith to the role of senior vice president of operations.
A telecommunications veteran with 30 years of extensive experience, Smith brings operational leadership to Allied during a pivotal time of expansion into new markets in the Northeast Region and Mid-Atlantic Corridor.
“We are very excited to bring such a seasoned, trusted leader on board,” said Allied CEO and founder, Ken Williams. “We conducted an exhaustive nationwide search for a world-class professional to join Allied’s officer team in guiding the company through a period of rapid growth, and Robyn was the perfect fit.”
In her new role, Smith will assume responsibility for ensuring operational excellence across the areas of service delivery, network operations, network planning, field operations, procurement, vendor relations and client experience.
Prior to joining Allied, she served as the vice president of service delivery at Fusion, a publicly-traded nationwide telecom service provider. Prior to Fusion, she had roles at Covad Communications, DSL.net and Cable & Wireless.
“We have been deeply impressed by the accomplishments Robyn has made in previous roles, in helping companies grow and develop improved scalable processes and procedures,” said Ron Pyles, Allied’s COO. “She is recognized as a highly collaborative team member and we have tremendous confidence that she will bring industry-leading operational practices to ensure the continued delivery of Allied’s best-in-class network reliability, product quality and client experience as we expand into new markets.”
