Alvarion Expands Channel Strategy

Wireless broadband specialist Alvarion is beefing up its channel strategy with the launch of two new channel partner programs. It also has enhanced its existing partner portal.

The Alvarion Partner Program focuses on three levels: channel partners, alliance partners and distribution partners. Now, it has launched the Expert Partner program, which is designed for highly specialized system integrators that demonstrate expertise in deploying complex wireless broadband networks in specific vertical markets. The program will facilitate a marketplace to allow information sharing between non-competing segment specific partners worldwide to break into new markets more effectively.

The company also launched a consultant program, enabling consultants to enjoy in-depth knowledge of products, solution and use the tools in the portal, without any commercial commitment or requirement.

Alvarion offers WiMAX, carrier Wi-Fi and other wireless technology for building out communications and data networks for enterprise campuses, municipal applications, education environments and other point-specific opportunities, as well as for service providers. It has enhanced the portal to better equip partners with the knowledge to sell the portfolio.

The portal has been enhanced to provide online certifications and training in English, Spanish and Portuguese, incentives and deployment modulation tools. There’s an area for qualified leads and lead management, along with an online sales tool – including video capacity, business case and cost-savings calculators.

The portal also now allows partners to access marketing resources, anywhere anytime including from their smartphones and tablets, by product or market segment. Additionally, it facilitates promotions, warranty activation and offers a technical resource center.

The goal, the company said, was to deliver a personalized experience where users can customize their dashboard based on specific needs and preferences.
