Avnet Brings Cisco/IBM Cloud to Latin America

Avnet Technology Solutions will begin offering Cisco and IBM’s new VersaStack solution in Latin America.

VersaStack combines the Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure with the IBM Storwize storage system. Partners will be able to utilize the integrated system to accelerate cloud, big data and analytics, and mobility deployments.

“VersaStack provides a valuable framework that our partners can use to capitalize on the vast opportunities in the integrated infrastructure market,” said Carlos Homps, director of solutions, marketing and sales acceleration, Avnet Technology Solutions, Latin America and the Caribbean. “The Avnet team has proven expertise in bringing complex, multi-vendor integrated systems to life, and we look forward to helping our channel partners continue to evolve and grow in this market space.”

Channel partners will be the primary route to market for the VersaStack solution.

VersaStack will be backed by Cisco Validated Design (CVD) reference architectures. Partners can use these reference architectures to design and deliver solutions specifically tailored to their customers’ business needs, and Avnet’s sales and technical team will be available to assist them throughout the sales cycle.

“As a value-added solutions distributor, Avnet is a strong Cisco partner to jointly develop the data center market in the Latin America region,” said Jose Antonio Morales, director for the Latin America Partner Organization at Cisco. “Cisco is focused on driving our converged data center initiatives, and Avnet has consistently demonstrated that they can successfully bring integrated data center solutions to market, including Cisco and IBM technology as part of the VersaStack solution. This capability will help to recruit and enable partners to be more relevant with line-of-business leaders and drive business outcomes for their customers.”
