CompTIA Announces Board

CompTIA, the information technology (IT) industry association, has announced the members of its Board of Directors for 2015-16. The board includes two new vice chairs and six new directors.

MJ Shoer continues as chairman of the Board of Directors for 2015-16. The president and virtual chief technology officer of Jenaly Technology Group, Shoer is starting his third year as chairman.

“As a member-led organization, CompTIA gives a voice to every aspect of the IT industry and IT channel,” Shoer said. “The diversity, experience and goodwill on our board is something I’ve not seen elsewhere in the industry. We’ve accomplished so much in a short period of time, and I’m eager to see what the future holds.”

Mont Phelps, CEO, NWN Corporation and Frank Vitagliano, vice president, channel sales, Dell, are the board vice chairs for 2015-16. Both men have served previously as directors.

The six new board members for 2015 are:

  • Scott Barlow, vice president, sales and marketing, Reflexion Networks.
  • Mary Ellen Grom, vice president, U.S. marketing, SYNNEX Corporation
  • Eric Martorano, general manager, U.S. channel sales, Microsoft
  • Tracy Pound, managing director, MaximITy
  • Dan Shapero, director, global cloud marketing, Ingram Micro
  • Joseph Squeri, CIO, Citadel

Returning to the CompTIA Board of Directors for another term are Amy Kardel, co-owner, Clever Ducks; Quy Nguyen, CEO, Allyance Communications; Gordon Pelosse, vice president, technology support delivery, Canada, Hewlett Packard (Canada); Barry Williams, executive director, indirect channel sales, Comcast Business; and Aaron Woods, director, NARS relationship and partner program, Xerox.
