Avnet Creates VP Corporate Communications Role

Avnet has named Kevin Sellers to the newly created role of vice president of corporate marketing and communications.

Sellers will be responsible for leading Avnet’s corporate branding strategy and awareness efforts along with managing executive and employee communications, public relations, social media and Avnet’s digital presence. He reports to MaryAnn Miller, senior vice president, chief human resources officer and corporate marketing and communications for Avnet.

“Building the Avnet brand is now one of our key enterprise strategies and I am confident that Kevin is an excellent choice for Avnet as we continue to increase awareness of Avnet’s brand and breadth of capabilities,” said Miller. “He brings a fresh perspective to Avnet acquired through an impressive career and global assignments. As a 20-year marketing and communications veteran, Kevin will assist Avnet in enhancing our marketing and communications efforts by creating Avnet brand enthusiasts in every corner of the world.”

Prior to Avnet, Sellers spent 23 years at Intel in a variety of leadership positions including running the global advertising creative and digital marketing teams. Most recently, he also served as a managing director in the San Francisco office of Sard Verbinnen, a strategic communications advisory firm, and as senior vice president of marketing and communications for Unilife, a medical device and technology company.

Sellers also brings international perspective to the role, having lived and worked in Asia, including Korea and Japan, for nearly 10 years. He is the recipient of multiple industry awards including B2B Magazine Top Digital Marketers in 2013 as well as five Cannes Lions Awards for creative excellence in 2014.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in Korean and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
