Barracuda Networks, which provides cloud-enabled security products and services, officially closed its acquisition of SKOUT Cybersecurity. This Melville, N.Y. company provides cyber-as-a-service software and extended detection and response (XDR) platforms and services.
The transaction expands Barracuda’s coverage for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), allowing it to offer proactive, real-time continuous security monitoring and response services for managed endpoints, networks and the cloud. The integration is also expected to improve customer access to threat detection, analysis and response while also cutting training and staffing costs.
Barracuda – by integrating SKOUT’s services within its own security infrastructure – ultimately plans to enhance support for handling cyberattacks in various customer environments.
“Barracuda has entered the fast-growing XDR market with a solution optimized for MSPs,” said SVP and GM, Barracuda MSP. “The acquisition expands our MSP security offerings with a powerful XDR platform backed by 24×7 SOC.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
