Cbeyond has launched the Communications on the Go solution, a cloud-based phone system with advanced call management features that can accessed from desktop phone and mobile handsets and devices, either at the office or remotely. The offering is available via the company’s channel partners.
Communications on the Go is an integrated amalgamation of several Cbeyond products and features, including the TotalCloud Phone System (TCPS), Cbeyond Communicator (for desktop and mobile), Cbeyond Mobile and Cbeyond’s Managed Network Service.
The TCPS service is designed specifically for small to mid-sized businesses with office, remote and mobile workers. The service routes and prioritizes voice traffic via Cbeyond’s private IP-network and data centers.
Cbeyond Communicator for Mobile, a smartphone application, extends TCPS calling features and functionality to the mobile handset for remote and travelling employees. It also turns smartphones into dual-identity devices that can place and receive calls using both traditional, desktop business phone numbers and a personal mobile number that can be kept private.
According to the Summer 2013 Cbeyond Business Leader Snapshot, a blind survey of 711 executives who run a business with 1-250 employees, the need for anytime, anywhere connection is of paramount importance to their businesses. These leaders also view mobile services, the ability to work remotely and the adoption of bring your own device (BYOD) policies as increasingly important and gaining in popularity.
Communications on the Go also has unified communications aspects, so users can begin a call on a desktop phone, laptop or tablet computer and transition to a mobile device without interruption and vice versa. The solution also improves device consistency across organizations, enabling employees to access company directories and set personal call forwarding options from their mobile phones.
