Cohesity Enters Into NVIDIA Collaboration to Extend GenAI and Data

AI-powered data security and management company Cohesity is working with NVIDIA to help organizations more safely unlock the power of generative AI (GenAI) and data. In particular, this collaboration will use NVIDIA NIM microservices and integrate NVIDIA AI enterprise into Cohesity’s Gaia platform.

Gaia, the company’s patent-pending collection of AI capabilities, will offer NVIDIA NIM and additional technology as part of a hardened, enterprise-class, multi-cloud data platform, with ready-to-implement GenAI solutions.

Additionally, Cohesity named NVIDIA as its newest investor.

The integration is expected to benefit customers by providing direct access to AI capabilities to drive more efficient operations, offer greater security risk insight and create more value from data.

Capabilities will include:

  • Creating domain-specific and performant GenAI models that are based on Cohesity-managed data, using NVIDIA NIM. Cohesity customers can fine-tune large-language models with data, adapting them to fit an organization’s brand voice.
  • Querying data via a GenAI assistant to gain insight from data, including deployment and configuration information, security and more.
  • Helping Cohesity’s and NVIDIA’s developer and partner ecosystems to leverage Cohesity’s secondary data to build GenAI apps that provide deeper insight for customers, based on data. Customers will be able to make the data securely available in an easy-to-consume way for partners and developers to build upon.
  • Adding GenAI intelligence to data backups and archives, allowing the companies to bring the power of NVIDIA-optimized GenAI to Cohesity data cloud customers. This helps in obtaining data-driven insight from data backups and archives, unleashing new levels of insight, efficiency, innovation and growth.

Cohesity Gaia was developed to cater to the changing needs of customers seeking to harness the power of AI to unlock insight from enterprise data in a safe, secure, compliant and responsible manner. Cohesity has leveraged AI/ML for years in various applications such as ransomware hunting, anomaly detection, threat intelligence, data classification, data entropy and capacity prediction. Gaia – which is based on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) technology – will present new opportunities for customers to analyze and uncover insight from data.

“Our collaboration, and NVIDIA’s investment in our company, is a testament to the promise NVIDIA sees in Cohesity as a leader and innovator in generative AI as evidenced by Cohesity Gaia,” said Sanjay Poonen, CEO and president, Cohesity. “Through this collaboration, technology and business executives will have a unique opportunity to leverage the power of generative AI, turning information into knowledge, while keeping their data both compliant and safe.”

“Generative AI is a computing platform shift that’s opened a floodgate of new productivity opportunities for enterprises,” said Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “We’re working with Cohesity to enable businesses to gain greater value from their data without compromising security or management flexibility.”
