MEF – an association of network, cloud and tech providers that provides a framework for digital service providers to develop and scale services – offers this certification program to validate enterprise cybersecurity and performance in the face of rising threats.

The certification follows Comcast Business’ release of its 2024 Cybersecurity Threat report, which analyzed over 29 billion attacks against Comcast Business customers. The report, combined with MEF certification, serve as examples of the company’s expansion of its cybersecurity offerings and capabilities.
MEF’s certification program addresses critical cybersecurity threats through rigorous testing of SASE, which includes SD-WAN, SSE and zero trust capabilities. The program is delivered in partnership with CyberRatings.org, a testing laboratory that promotes transparency and confidence in cybersecurity solutions.
Technology providers must successfully complete all three certification modules to achieve full SASE certification. Service providers can achieve certification by integrating MEF-certified technology solutions, ensuring enterprise customers can trust the security and performance of their provider’s ecosystem.
The program validates compliance with MEF standards, including MEF SD-WAN (MEF 70.1), SASE (MEF 117) and zero trust (MEF 118). Certified solutions receive detailed ratings displayed in MEF’s certification registry, enabling enterprises to make informed decisions about security investments.
