Eutelsat Appoints CEO

The Board of Directors of Eutelsat Communications has appointed Eva Berneke as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1. She also will serve as a member of the Board.

Berneke brings considerable experience of the telecoms and technology industries. She joins Eutelsat from KMD, an IT and software company in Demark that specializes in IT solutions and services for the public and private sector.

KMD is now part of the NEC Group.

During her tenure there, she oversaw the transformation of KMD from being mainly a government service provider to a modern, digital company competing in the public and private sectors.

Prior to that, Berneke held several senior positions at TDC, formerly TeleDanmark, the largest telecommunications company in Denmark. Among her roles there was Head of Strategy and Head Wholesale Business.

Berneke began her career at McKinsey, where she developed a specialization in the TMT sectors, and where she was based for 10 years at the group’s Paris offices.
