FirstLight Wins Albany Capital Center Contract

Albany Capital Center (ACC), a new, modern meeting and conference facility located in downtown Albany has chosen FirstLight’s high-speed, fiber-based Internet and voice services.

FirstLight’s Internet circuit will ensure fast, high-quality connectivity for the expansive center, set to open in March 2017, and its voice services will guarantee voice quality and reliability for the organization, guests, meeting and event planners.

As part of its building construction and planning process, convention operator SMG began its search for a local vendor offering scalable, high-speed, fiber-based internet at competitive rates, and ultimately selected FirstLight because it met all of its requirements.

“FirstLight stood out among the potential vendors that submitted proposals,” said Doug McClaine, general manager, Albany Capital Center. “We currently have a solid working relationship with FirstLight at the Times Union Center, our experience with its quality, localized customer support is essential for a project of this caliber. We were impressed with the reliability of FirstLight services combined with a redundancy plan to accommodate our needs.”

“We appreciate the trust that the Albany Capital Center has placed in FirstLight to deliver a customized Internet and voice solution to support this impressive facility,” added Kurt Van Wagenen, president and CEO, FirstLight. “FirstLight delivers reliable, scalable communications services that are critical to supporting state-of-the-art convention centers, like ACC. We look forward to working with SMG and ACC as part of a venture that will bring so much benefit to our Capital District.”
